Clubs & Activities

Clubs & Activities at B-SMART

At B-SMART, students are encouraged and supported as they identify, enjoy, explore, and commit to their personal interests and passions. There are a wide variety of clubs and activities designed for this purpose. Students find that joining a club is a great way to get involved in campus life, to meet other students, and, of course, to simply have fun.

B-SMART scholars join and lead several clubs and interest groups. Curiosity and wonder are pursuits we honor and strive to inspire. They feed a love of learning and dedication to personal growth that continues into adulthood and precipitate some of the most enduring lessons learned outside of the classroom.

Reasons to Join a Club

Clubs and interest groups provide scholars with:

  1. Leadership opportunities

  2. Public speaking experience

  3. Chances to plan and organize events

  4. Opportunities to expand cultural and educational interests

  5. Several ways to have fun with friends and teachers!

Urban Ambassador Program

The NYC Urban Ambassadors program was founded in 2012 by the NYC DOE's Division of school Support.

The department saw the need for a young men's initiative that focused on increasing the number of traditionally underserved male students that matriculate into select colleges and universities.

The program provides academic enrichment, one on one college application assistance, leadership development, mentorship and encourages strong parental environment.
